CSSB Lightning Protection System
It has one high capacity conductor cable capable of withstanding multiple lightning strikes to which is attached a uniquely designed electrical dissipater electrode that hangs overboard and is submerged in the water.
The CSSB model is a semi-permanent installation requiring the mounting of a contact plate to the front of the mast. Its contact plate mounts in the same fashion as for the CSS system.
It can be installed on sailboats or catamarans. When in use, the dissipater electrode and cable are placed in the water. The conductor cable is run over the side and in the case of catamarans, it is placed between the hulls through an opening in the trampoline
Characteristics Tinned copper fabrication.
1/0 AWG tinned copper marine shipboard cable. Can install temporarily with the use of marine brass wing nuts or can be permanently mounted to the mast.
